I guess I get to try two different swords for fighting.

1. Hawk got me a new basket hilt, one of the windrose plastic (I think)ones.
2. He got me a pommel and quillion in the Viking style for my sword.

EEP! Something for my persona!!!!
Now I have to finish my gauntlets so I can try it out!

Sometimes the best person to have on an ambulance call isnt the EMT or Medic.
Sometimes its the Spanish teacher.

Thank you!

Svan and I are on from 1730-0530 today, in case the fat guy in the red suit Santa reports a problem, and then we're on from 2100 Friday until 0530 on Saturday.

May you find whatever you're looking for with your family and friends.

I got to sleep at a reasonable time last night, but was woken at 2:30am by what I'm guessing was a pocket-dial or an inadvertent click, from an unrecognized 360 (Washington area?) number. I could hear people talking in the background, but they didn't seem to hear me. I thought about calling back, but decided if they really meant to talk to me, they'd figure out a way.

Can't help but wonder if this was a result of my putting my phone number on the Facebook page for supporting Arrow Trucking drivers. The timing makes it make sense. Ah well.

Of course, I couldn't fall asleep again for an hour and a half.

Time to go home!

...time this year I'm desk duty here in Salt Mine Shaft #26. No, I don't really have much in the way of fond memories of this work. Things that were not resolved in 2009 are likely to remain so for the next week. I will be on vacation until 01/04/10.

A decade has passed. I could muse on it, but I think the media outlets are doing that for us. The future is ahead, and I'm sort of ambivelent about that, too. I cannot control the past as much as I cannot control the future. The present has enough challenges.

Wow.  In just one week we will be on the last day of 2009.  And I am ok with this.  While 2009 was certainly not a good year for ME, I have a number of friends for whom it has been far worse.  The year's end will be well celebrated.  I am hoping that 2010 will be a much better year for us all!

But tonight is Christmas Eve.  Now as a Jew, this has always been just another holiday that afforded me a day off.  But the spirit of the season - not the commercialism and the endless BAD music - I'm talking about the spirit of generosity and peace and harmony - has always made me feel content.  I am working on a positive attitude, looking forward to a coming good year - for everyone!

May all of you have peace.  I hope that whatever holiday you may choose to celebrate - be it Christmas, Channukkqah, Yule, Festivus, Kwanzaa, or the Pasta Feast of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (because there needs to be SOME holiday for the FSM) - I hope that you have a good one, filled with love and peace and happiness and all that other sappy stuff.

Thank you for being a part of my life.
